GrayBell Studio is named for my granddaughters Gracie and Isobel. It is nestled at the bottom of a gentle slope, in a clearing in the woods. It is a quiet, protected place full of light, warmth and peace. Being there restores me.
The process and the place...
Most of my paintings have many, many, many layers. These are a few shots of the making of "Spilled Light" 3'x3' Acrylic-SOLD
GrayBell is a place of retreat where I know I will be uninterrupted. I have an old CD player and lots of good music, that for me is crucial to the painting process. I paint 2-4 hours almost every day when I'm on a roll. My most productive painting time is fall and winter. So the fall painting season has begun. There will be an interruption in January when we finish the inside of the studio. Other things have taken priority the last two years, but it's next on the list of work to do. Then I will have a show in September or October 2023.
